maybe not the best pic, but the new spectacular spider-man cartoon has a parker that
looks EXACTLY like scott pilgrim. he even has the t-shirt tag that sticks up like in the books!
character design guy is clearly a fan of mr. pilgrim. am i imagining things?
anyone else seen this and notice it?
the t-shirt tag makes me think it's more than a coincidence.
but, i can't really find any images of it online...watch a clip on yt and you'll see what i mean.
this pic isn't the best example..
I've definitely read someone point out the similarity on the intertubes somewhere before, because it's what got me to check the show out in the first place...which has since grown on me a lot, to the point where I used to wake up on Saturday mornings just to watch it.
Anyway, BEST SHOW. I hope they make 30 more seasons of it.

This is a sick show. but i dont see scott in this particular Pete. Sean "Cheeks" Galloway maybe had Scotty-boy in mind may be he didnt. i don't think he did.
talking about looks and character design, not personality.
although it is a bit of an early 90's animated spider-man rehash sometimes, i do agree, SHOW IS
AMAZING! best superhero cartoon in the past few years!
the parker design looks NOTHING like the ultimate spider-man design.
i'm familiar with THAT design...
the spidey's style in the show DOES look identical, though.
I dunno man, I wouldn't say based complelty of ult SM.
I think they just took their favourite things from each series of stories and ran with it. A few things that back this up would be stuff like...
Gwen isn't a "bad girl" at all, she's a geek like peter.
The symboite is alien, not man made
goblin wears a costume.
ben wasn't a hippie.
Tombstone is a major player thoughour most of the show
I think, in it's own right, the show is a completely different tale, taking the best ellements from 616 and the Ult universe. It's just an awesome show though, so this shouldn't even be an issue.
